Love in Disguise: protecting the man she wants to catch
A detective becomes a murder suspect’s personal secretary. Yim Si-wan and Seol In-ah’s close-contact romance begins where suspicion and protection share a job description.
tvNTo catch a suspect, she first has to manage his working day. In Love in Disguise, detective Kang Jae-hee enters Yoon Yi-jun’s life as his personal secretary. Having to protect the person she suspects puts investigation and romance uncomfortably close together.
Includes the opening setup and material from episodes 1–2.
tvNPlayed by Seol In-ah, Jae-hee is a former special forces officer turned detective. When Taegang Group’s influence blocks the investigation, she applies for Yi-jun’s secretary role to find evidence herself. The position accepts only men, so she goes undercover as one. Access brings clues and a greater risk of exposure.
tvNYim Si-wan’s Yi-jun is a Taegang executive and potential heir. Implicated in his secretary’s death, he keeps his thoughts difficult to read. At the police station, his friend and company lawyer Kim Si-hyun, played by Kim Jung-hyun, reveals part of the defence Jae-hee must work around.
tvNGetting hired also means doing the job. In the episode-two promotional stills, Jae-hee must protect an expensive moon jar and taste Yi-jun’s food before he eats. The absurd duties become funny because maintaining her professional cover is also how she keeps investigating.
tvNYi-jun watches his new employee closely. An early scene in which he removes the glasses she has been using to film him sharpens their contest over information. What has he noticed, and how will she conceal her next move? Those questions give their proximity an edge.
tvNChairman’s-office secretary Lee Hye-jung, played by Yeonwoo, is part of the workplace Jae-hee now has to navigate. Meeting colleagues also means approaching the case. Follow who knows what, and which role Jae-hee performs for each person, and the cast becomes a map of possible clues.
Here, doing a job well brings the detective closer to her suspect. Jae-hee’s choices between guarding and investigating him—and Yi-jun’s response to that closeness—are worth following.
