Gimbap usually travels inside the picnic bag. This time, it is the destination: Gimcheon Gimbap Festival runs October 23–25 around Jikji Culture Park and Samyeong Daesa Park. Four themed zones connect food, activities and a playground.

Browse the stalls before choosing your first roll. Gimbap Plaza focuses on local specialties, while Gimbap Heaven introduces regional variations from across Korea. Share one familiar combination and one curious discovery; it is a pleasant way to compare what rice, seaweed and different fillings can do.

After eating, move on to the exhibitions and hands-on areas. The program extends the food theme through a gimbap literature event and flea markets. Families can add the playground; alternating food stops and activities gives everyone a turn at choosing.

The mascot, Kkodari, brings the end piece of a gimbap roll to mind. Character photo spots and souvenirs turn a small food detail into a shared joke. That playful extension of an everyday meal is part of the festival’s appeal.
